Thank you for visiting our fundraising page!
This is a little after the fact but just to let you know that Ronnie and I rode in the Hotter'n Hell Hundred Bike Ride on Saturday, August 23rd in Wichita Falls, Texas. No, we didn't ride the 100 miles (maybe next year) but Ronnie did ride the 100k, which is approximately 65 miles, and I rode in the 25 mile race. Riding for a cause is so much more enjoyable, so we rode in support of International Child Care.
For those of you who don't already know, I made a trip in May to the Dominican Republic and Haiti to be educated on the mission of International Child Care in these two countries, and what a mission they have!!! Their goal is to provide health care to children. ICC supports Grace Children's Hopsital in Port-au-Prince Haiti and other health programs for children in Haiti and the DR. ICC specializes in the treatment of children with TB, HIV and other serious diseases such as malnutrition, pneumonia and dehydration. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. ICC also supports rehabilitation and basic health care programs to children in the poor barrios of the DR. The work the health care providers give is very courgeous despite the tremendous need for funds, equipment, supplies and manpower.
Having seen these efforts myself, I can tell you that any money donated would be money well spent. I believe it's a basic right for people everywhere to have adequate healthcare.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
